Robert C. King, 85, Of Yonkers

YONKERS, N.Y. – Robert C. King, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, died on Sunday, Aug. 2. He was 85.

King was born on March 24, 1930 to Peter and Mary (nee McGrath) King.

He served in the Army during the Korean War, working as an assembler for Otis Elevator for 27 years and as a custodian for the Yonkers Board of Education for 15 years.

King was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, five sisters and wife Geraldine.

He is survived by two daughters, Mary King, Norma Waring and her husband Jim, four grandchildren, Colin, Shane, Kira and Kensi, sister Evelyn Hayes and her husband Michael, and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A mass of Christian burial will be at Christ the King Church on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
